Best Ever Thanksgiving Stuffing

This is it, the stuffing recipe you will pass down to your children and grandchildren. This is everything you want a stuffing/dressing to be crispy, crunchy and craggily edges yet tender in the middle with a garlic-y, herb-y, and butter-y.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Turkey Rub or Garlic & Sage

8 cups white bread, torn into 1 inch pieces

10 tablespoons butter

2 medium onions, diced

2 stalks celery, cut into ¼ inch pieces

2 teaspoons salt

2 cups chicken stock, divided

2 eggs

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 275°F. Arrange bread on rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes or until the bread is dried out and crispy. Let cool to room temperature.

2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter 9x9 inch baking dish. Set aside.

3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat add the butter. Once melted add the onion, celery, Turkey/Poultry Rub and salt. Sauté for 10 minutes, or until just brown. Stir in 1 cup stock. Let cool to room temperature.

4. In a large bowl, whisk the remaining 1 cup stock and the eggs. Stir in the bread, and reserved onion mixture. Mix well. Transfer to the prepared dish.

5. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. **see recipe tip**

6. Remove foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is brown and crispy.

*The stuffing can be covered refrigerated at this point for 1 day. Then proceed to step 6*
