Ingredients
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp Garlic Herb Sea Salt
1/4 cup cold cubed butter
1/4 cold water
1-2 tsp salt for sprinkling
Directions
- In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar, and Garlic Herb Sea Salt.
- Add the cold butter and with a pastry blender or your fingertips work the butter into the mixture until it is combined and becomes a coarse texture.
- Add the cold water and mix again with a spoon until combined and then use your hands once again to knead into a ball.
- Flour your work surface and place your dough ball on top, cut into 2 pieces and set one aside.
- Roll out the first half as thin as you can, when you think it’s thin, go a bit thinner! Then using a knife or pastry wheel cut into 1-1 1/2 inch squares. Using a fork or toothpick, pierce your crackers in the middle - do not skip this step! If you don’t do this the crackers will puff up and won’t be flat. Repeat with the second half of dough.
- Once that is finished, place the crackers onto a greased or parchment lined baking sheet, they can be close but not touching or they will stick together.
- Sprinkle with salt and bake at 400° F for 7-11 mins until golden brown. Time may vary depending on how thin you got the crackers rolled out- so watch them closely so you don’t under bake or burn them!
- Let cool completely and enjoy!
